What is a fire- and burglary-resistant safe?

What is a fire- and burglary-resistant safe?

A fire- and burglary-resistant safe is a security solution that protects valuables against both theft and fire.

Dual certification means that the safe has been independently tested and approved for both aspects:

  • Burglary resistance

    • Security Level S1 / S2 (EN 14450) → entry-level models, suitable for limited values and private use.

    • Grades 0 to VI (EN 1143-1) → professionally certified safes, with increasing resistance to burglary attempts. The higher the grade, the higher the insurable value.

  • Fire resistance
Tested separately (for example according to EN 15659 or NT FIRE 017) and ranging from 30 to 120 minutes of protection.
Note: there is an important difference between the protection of paper documents and that of digital media (hard drives, USB sticks, etc.), as digital data is damaged at much lower temperatures.

Only safes with dual certification provide truly tested and reliable protection against both fire and burglary.
