To effectively protect cash, important documents, and valuable items, a safe with recognized certification is essential. The Salvus Milano combines EN 1143-1 Grade 2 burglary resistance with certified fire protection. This makes it a reliable solution offering excellent value for money for both commercial and residential applications.
Certified Burglary and Fire Safety
The Salvus Milano has been independently tested and certified according to European standards, providing a clear guideline regarding insurance ratings:
-
Burglary resistance (EN 1143-1 Grade 2): Offers an indicative insurance cover of € 25,000 for cash and € 50,000 for valuables.
-
Fire resistance (EN 15659 LFS 30P): During a 30-minute test procedure at approximately 840 °C, the internal temperature remained low enough to ensure the integrity of paper documents.
Advanced Safe Wall with UHPC Technology
The resistance of the Salvus Milano is due to a well-designed, multi-walled steel construction featuring a core of UHPC (Ultra High Performance Concrete).
This ultra-high-performance concrete has an exceptionally dense structure and significantly higher mechanical strength than traditional concrete (with a compressive strength of 150 to over 200 MPa, compared to 20 to 30 MPa for standard building concrete). Because of these properties, the material offers high impact resistance and excellent protection against mechanical attack methods, such as drilling or chiseling.
In addition, UHPC has a highly compact mineral structure that remains relatively stable even at high temperatures. This increases resistance to thermal attack methods, such as cutting torches or thermal lances. An additional advantage of the high compressive strength of UHPC is that the construction can be optimized. You get the same high-level protection as with classic concrete, but with thinner walls and a lower total weight, resulting in more effective interior space.
What makes UHPC different from ordinary concrete?
Unlike traditional concrete, UHPC contains no coarse gravel. It is an extremely complex mixture made up of over 20 fine components and high-quality fiber reinforcement. In terms of structure and mechanical properties, UHPC is therefore closer to an advanced composite material than to classic concrete.
Four-Sided Locking and Passive Relocker System
The locking system of the Salvus Milano secures the door on all four sides and is equipped with multiple security mechanisms:
-
Massive steel bolts on the top, bottom, and front.
-
A fixed interlocking profile on the hinge side, which keeps the door securely locked in the frame even if the hinges are sawn off.
-
The lock and the vital parts of the boltwork are protected by manganese steel anti-drill plates.
-
In the event of a brute-force attack, a passive blocking system (relocker) is triggered, permanently locking the opening mechanism from the inside.
Wide Range of Lock Options
Depending on your security protocols, the Salvus Milano can be equipped with a wide range of EN 1300 certified locks. Options include a double-bitted key lock (Class A), an electronic code lock (Class B) with optional time delay, a mechanical code lock, a time lock, or an electronic code lock with an override key.
On almost all models in the Milano range, it is also possible to equip the safe with two separate locks for situations requiring the 'four-eyes principle' (dual control).
Professional Installation and Anchoring
Proper installation is crucial for the ultimate security of the safe. The Salvus Milano is prepared as standard with anchoring holes in the base and the rear wall.
Atelier Boonen takes care of the delivery, professional installation, and chemical anchoring of the safe on site. Our team has the right equipment and technical expertise to carry out installations safely and discreetly in a variety of environments.
