Maintenance and Repair of Safes and Vaults

A well-functioning safe is not only more secure, it’s also more convenient to use on a daily basis. Yet maintenance is often overlooked. Depending on the type and frequency of use, we recommend a professional check-up every 5 to 10 years.

In many cases, a simple inspection with professional cleaning and lubrication of the locking mechanism, hinges and moving parts is enough to keep everything running smoothly and prevent wear or jamming caused by dust, friction or dry components.

You should contact us when:

  • the key jams or turns with difficulty
  • the handle or knob requires unusual force
  • the door opens or closes with difficulty
  • multiple attempts are needed before the code is accepted
  • the mechanism creaks, grinds or catches
  • the lock no longer functions as it should

On-site repairs or in our workshop

Sometimes a full repair is necessary, for example with worn or deformed hinges, a common issue in older or heavily used safes. Since most safes are difficult or impossible to move, we almost always carry out repairs on-site. When needed, components are removed and restored in our fully equipped workshop.

Thanks to our technical expertise and specialised equipment, we ensure solid and reliable repairs that restore full functionality.

Key checks and replacements

Don’t forget to regularly inspect the condition of your safe keys. A key that turns poorly, has bent teeth or a loose head can cause damage to the lock. It’s best to have a new key made in time.
