Fraigneux Vintage Safe

We have restored a beautiful safe manufactured by the Liège-based brand Fraigneux. This brand disappeared several decades ago after being taken over by Chubb, which later became Chubb Lips. Nevertheless, Fraigneux was one of the largest Belgian safe manufacturers. The company was particularly active in the banking sector, with thousands of strong rooms built. The factory was located on Rue Douffet in Liège.

This armoured safe dates back to the 1930s and was originally built for a jeweller in Brussels. It is fitted with a Kromer Protector double-bitted key lock from Germany. A slightly modernised version of this lock is still in production today and is certified to VdS EN 1300 Class C, the highest class for key locks on safes. The four-letter “Monobouton” code lock was a Fraigneux exclusive. It is easy to operate, highly secure, and requires obligatory locking.

The safe’s mechanism has been fully overhauled, the hinges have been re-bored and adjusted. It is supplied with two keys and comes with a two-year warranty.
