Some modern adhesive kits offer very high bonding strength, but they are not suitable for anchoring a safe securely. In practice, such fixings can be prised loose relatively easily. This is because the strength depends not only on the adhesive itself, but above all on the surface being bonded: on a plastered wall the plaster layer can come loose, on wood the board can crack, on tiles the tile can detach — and often it is the paint layer of the safe itself that gives way.
Gluing also has drawbacks when a safe needs to be replaced or moved: detaching it almost always causes damage to both the safe and its surroundings.
Gluing may therefore seem a quick and easy way to secure a safe, but in most cases it is inadequate and creates a false sense of security. For a reliable and durable solution, chemical anchoring remains the best choice. Where drilling is not permitted for specific reasons, we apply alternative techniques.
