What is a Grade 7 safe?

EN 1143-1 Grade 7 is a European certification for the burglary resistance of safes and represents the highest resistance level applied in practice for freestanding safes. Availability is extremely limited — Grade 7 is reserved for the most exceptional security scenarios, such as central banks, government institutions and exceptional private collections.

Burglary resistance is expressed in Resistance Units (RU): Grade 7 requires 400 RU for partial access and 600 RU for full access.

The insurable value is determined individually by the insurer based on the specific application and additional security measures — no fixed indicative amounts apply.
