What is a burglar-proof safe?

A burglary-resistant safe is a security cabinet specifically designed to withstand burglary attempts. These safes are tested according to the European standard EN 1143-1, which measures resistance against attack methods such as drilling, grinding, prying and thermal tools.
Based on these tests, each safe is assigned a resistance grade:

• Grade 0 to 6 → standard safes, for private and professional use
• Grade 7 to 13 → vault rooms and high-security installations
  These safes are also referred to as Eurosafes, as they are built and certified according to harmonised European standards. The right grade depends on the value stored, the risk profile and your insurer's requirements; for professional use, grade 3 to 6 is often required.
