Fire resistant or burglary resistant filing cabinet: what is the difference?

A fire resistant filing cabinet is tested to protect paper or data during a fire. A burglary resistant filing cabinet is reinforced against forced entry and sometimes carries an S1 or S2 certificate according to EN 14450. A DIN 4102 reference concerns the flammability of the materials used, not the protection the cabinet offers. To cover both risks, choose a model tested against both fire and burglary.
