Armoured cabinets, secure storage cabinets and burglary-resistant cabinets
Security cabinets, also referred to as armoured cabinets, secure storage cabinets or burglary-resistant cabinets, are designed for the secure storage of valuable items, sensitive documents, confidential files and goods that require protection against theft, unauthorised access or discretion. They are a practical solution when you need a lighter security option than a certified burglary-resistant safe, while still requiring more protection than a standard metal cabinet or office filing cabinet.
This category includes both single-walled and double-walled cabinets, with different levels of protection and a range of locking options. Depending on their construction and intended use, these products may also be described as secure cabinets, reinforced cabinets, armoured security cabinets or security filing cabinets. The category also includes models according to EN 14450 S1 and S2, which provide certified basic protection against burglary.
While paper archives are decreasing in many organisations, the need for secure storage of physical goods remains highly relevant. Security cabinets are often used to store smartphones, tablets and other electronic devices in shops, laptops in schools or training centres, expensive tools on construction sites, stock items, keys, photographic equipment, lenses, cameras and other valuable assets. In certain environments, such as hospital pharmacies, healthcare institutions and laboratories, they may also be used for the secure storage of medicines, controlled substances or regulated products. Security cabinets are also used for seized goods, personal belongings or other items that need to be stored temporarily, securely and discreetly.
Some versions feature a double-walled construction filled with insulating material according to the questionable DIN 4102 standard. However, these cabinets have not undergone fire-resistance testing.
If you also require fire protection, choose tested and certified products. For this purpose, view our fireproof safes and fire-resistant cabinets, which provide protection against fire and, depending on the model, also against burglary.
When burglary protection is the main requirement, you can opt for a burglary-resistant safe, with certified resistance against theft and unauthorised access.
