Cabinets for the safe storage of gas cylinders, indoors and outdoors
Pressurised gas cylinders should not stand loose in a workshop, laboratory or warehouse. A gas cylinder cabinet keeps the cylinders upright and secured, removes leaking gas in a controlled way and protects the cylinders from unauthorised access. Indoors, choose a fire-resistant cabinet to EN 14470-2 that protects the cylinders during a fire in the room. For outdoor use, there are galvanised cabinets with natural ventilation and a roof that drains rainwater.
Our gas cylinder cabinets come from Asecos: the G-ULTIMATE-90 for indoor use, fire-resistant for 90 minutes, and the G-OD for outdoor storage. Both hold 50-litre cylinders, with holders and straps that keep the cylinders from tipping over.
What does a gas cylinder cabinet do?
A gas cylinder cabinet has mounting rails and cylinder holders with straps that keep the cylinders from tipping over, plus ventilation that removes leaking gas so that no explosive or harmful atmosphere builds up inside. Asecos indoor cabinets are prepared for connection (ø 75 mm) to mechanical extraction that ventilates the whole interior evenly, and gas lines run through a large feed-through area in the roof.
Indoor or outdoor?
Inside a building, the cabinet must protect the cylinders during a fire in the room. The Asecos G-ULTIMATE-90 is fire-resistant for 90 minutes to EN 14470-2. Outdoors, corrosion resistance, ventilation and protection against weather and intruders matter most: the Asecos G-OD is fully galvanised, with a stainless steel floor, a sloping roof with overhang and ventilation openings in the doors.
How many cylinders?
The G-ULTIMATE-90 comes in widths of 60, 90 and 140 cm for 1 or 2, 3 or 4 cylinders of 50 litres. The outdoor G-OD is 70, 100 or 135 cm wide for 2, 3 or 5 cylinders of 50 litres.
