Fire-resistant cabinets for lithium-ion batteries
Lithium-ion batteries require different protection from flammable liquids. In the event of an internal battery fire — caused by thermal runaway, a chain reaction in which a cell overheats and ignites neighbouring batteries — the cabinet must contain heat, gases and projectiles. Our battery cabinets are designed for safe storage, with models also suited to charging.
Most of our cabinets are compliant with VDMA 24994, the German reference specification for battery storage. This recent standard defines test methods specifically tailored to the risks of lithium-ion batteries. The cabinets are equipped with essential safety features:
- compartmentalisation to prevent fire spread,
- integrated ventilation and temperature monitoring,
- smoke and heat sensors with alarm signals,
- optional extinguishing systems or explosion pressure relief.
Suited to workshops, production environments, technical rooms and any setting involving the storage or charging of lithium-ion batteries.
