Wertheim vault rooms and vault doors – Maximum physical protection up to Grade XIII CD EX
Wertheim vault doors and vault rooms are designed for environments where physical security is essential, such as banks, public authorities, jewellers and diamond dealers, companies, institutions and critical infrastructure. They are certified to the European standard EN 1143-1 and can be built modularly in various resistance grades, from Grade I up to Grade XIII KB EX.
Wertheim vault rooms can be assembled from modular panels, which makes them suitable for integration into existing buildings as well as new projects. Depending on the required resistance level, the panels are available in thicknesses from 70 to 160 mm, with weights from 200 to 1215 kg/m². This modular construction allows the vault room to be adapted to the technical constraints of the site, the available space, the floor load and the insurer's requirements. Depending on the project, additional protection can be provided: core drill protection CD (KB) against diamond tools, explosion resistance EX and fire resistance up to 180 minutes according to EN 1634-1. These options allow the vault room to be tailored to specific risks and to demanding professional or institutional environments.
Wertheim vault doors are built for high mechanical resistance. They are fitted with solid rectangular bolts and a reinforced locking profile along the full height of the hinge side. Depending on the resistance grade and configuration, door weights range from 340 to 4300 kg.
From Grade IV upwards, two EN 1300 Class B certified locks are required. The vault doors can be fitted with mechanical or electronic safe locks, or a combination of both, depending on the security requirements, the intended use and the insurance conditions. Preparation for integration into an alarm system is provided, so the door can be connected to an existing detection or monitoring installation.
Certain Wertheim vault doors can also be configured to be locked or opened from the inside. This allows the vault room, depending on the project and configuration, to serve as a secure room or panic room — relevant in environments where the protection of people matters as much as the protection of valuables.
Some versions can additionally be equipped with an emergency door, in Grades I to V and VII to VIII KB. This option guarantees emergency access in the event of a technical failure or in exceptional situations.
