On the Asecos UFA.025.030, the activated carbon filter must be replaced at least once a year, and immediately when the unit reports that it is saturated. The unit monitors saturation continuously and warns in two steps: first when the filter is almost saturated, then when it is fully saturated. Asecos also recommends replacing the secondary filter every year. After about four years of continuous use, the sensor must be replaced as well.
You do not replace the filter yourself: Asecos service technicians do this and have the contaminated activated carbon processed correctly. At the same time they check that the unit works properly, which must be done at least once a year. You order this service from us; see Do you offer an annual inspection of safety cabinets?
Note: the filter only retains solvent vapours (hydrocarbons), not acid or alkali vapours. The difference between a filter unit and an extraction unit is explained in our guide under extraction and ventilation. See also the Asecos UFA.025.030.
