How do you avoid pipes when installing a safe or fire-resistant cabinet?

Ideally, there should be plans or photos showing the location of pipes and conduits. If these are not available, we first check for signs of their presence, for example near radiators, drains, switches or sockets.

We also use a wall scanner to detect possible pipes. However, this technique never provides 100% certainty. If, after inspection, we consider drilling to be safe, we carry out the work for anchoring the safe or fire-resistant cabinet in a controlled and careful manner, keeping the risk to an absolute minimum.
